How do retailer review ratings work at bol?
Similar to how customers can write reviews about products, they can also write a review about a retailer. Next to written feedback, the customer can rate the retailer on an overall basis and up to four key sub-ratings:
-
Product description quality
-
Delivery timeliness
-
Condition of shipped item(s)
-
Customer service (if applicable)
Rating method
The response from this API contains the average ratings, calculated in one of two ways:
-
Last 3 months: only reviews from the past 3 months are used.
-
All reviews: all historical reviews are included.
The last 3 months are used if there have been at least 5 reviews in the past three months. If fewer than 5 reviews were placed in the past 3 months, all reviews are used.
Top Retailer label
Retailers can earn the Top Retailer label, visually indicated by a gold badge in the shop.
To qualify, a retailer must meet the following criteria:
-
An average overall rating of 9.0 or higher.
-
A minimum score of 8.5 on each sub-rating.
-
At least 20 reviews in the last month.
Rating categories
The overall rating of a review can fall into one of three sentiment categories:
-
Positive: an 8 or higher
-
Neutral: a 6 or a 7
-
Negative: a 5 or lower
You will find the number of reviews you received in each of these categories in the API response, as well as the ratio between the number of positive reviews and the number of non-neutral reviews.
