If a negative category is registered your ad will not be showing in the specified category in case a potential customer ends up on that page whilst navigating through the product catgories/hierarchy.

Negative Target Categories API
The Negative Target Categories API helps you to create and manage your negative target categories efficiently through following endpoints:

Create a negative target category - Creates a new negative category and adds it to the ad group.

Get a list of negative target categories - Retrieves a list of negative target categories for a specific ad group in a paginated format.

Delete a negative target category by keyword id - Deletes a negative target category.
In order to find out what would be relevant negative target categories, please refer to the Get product placement endpoint. The get product placement endpoint shows you what product categories your products will possibly be showing in. Therefore, only the product categories found in the product placement endpoint serve as relevant negative target categories. |
